Meet dream woman Deborah @deborahgates_ who continues to inspires us with her quiet strength, kindness, and grounded sense of self. She leads with her values, shows up for the people around her, and finds pride in the life and connections she’s built.

What would you tell the younger version of you who was afraid to take up space?

I would take that young girl and hug her.  I would tell her she does not have to randomly say 'sorry'.  I would tell her YOU are not in the way, your thoughts and opinions are as valid as everyone else's, you ARE intelligent! You were raised to be kind, generous and polite and some people will try to take advantage of this, so stand your ground and don't compromise your values and beliefs.

What's your non-negotiable or something you'll never settle on?

My personal values are not negotiable and I don't compromise them

What is one of your most proudest achievements that you overcome self-doubt or didn't think you could do?  

Raising a beautiful, confident, kind and emotionally intelligent son.

What things do you appreciate about the women in your life (and yourself) that you think doesn’t get enough praise?  

The women in my life truly listen and actively support me - and each other. They don’t try to “fix” things; instead, we walk together through whatever comes our way. I don’t think women are recognized enough for their remarkable capacity to give of themselves so selflessly.
